PG&E CUTS OFF POWER TO THOUSANDS

PG&E has cut off power to thousands of customers across Northern and Central California. The utility started to shut off power in the early morning today, impacting portions of 34 California counties. Strong and dry winds forecast for today through tomorrow afternoon prompted the company to turn off power. The shutoffs are part of PG&E’s efforts to reduce the threat of wildfire that could be sparked by lines brought down by strong winds.
